Baskerville Typeface Specimen

Fall 2024

This poster duo was created by me with the intent of highlighting the visual aspects and history of the typeface Baskerville created by Henry Baskerville.

To create Baskerville, Henry Baskerville had to improve on the printing technology and methodology during his time. Achieving this produced darker inks as well as whiter paper.

I highlighted this by utilizing paper texture assets as the poster background, to reference the printing process employed by Baskerville. As well as chose a black and white color palette to assist in showcasing the high contrast of the letterforms.
